Seller Documentation Policy

This Seller Documentation Policy outlines the essential documents required from sellers to onboard and operate on MODCART.CO, the fashion marketplace managed by Modcart Ecom Private Limited. These documents ensure compliance, authenticity, and operational transparency between the platform and its sellers.
1. Mandatory Documents for Registration
All sellers are required to submit the following documents at the time of registration:
a. Business Registration Proof
- Proprietorship: Shop Act License or Udyam Registration
- Partnership: Partnership Deed
- Private Limited/LLP: Certificate of Incorporation and Company PAN
b. PAN Card
A valid Permanent Account Number (PAN) in the name of the business entity.
c. GST Certificate
Goods and Services Tax Registration Certificate (GSTIN) matching the business name and address.
d. Bank Account Proof
Cancelled cheque or a recent bank statement (not older than 3 months) showing the account number, IFSC, and business name.
e. Address Proof
Utility bill, rent agreement, or any government-issued document showing the business operating address.
f. Authorized Signatory ID Proof
Aadhar card, Voter ID, or Passport of the individual registering the seller account.
2. Optional (Recommended) Documents
- Trademark Certificate (for private label brands)
- ISO or Quality Certifications (for regulated product categories)
- Product Test Reports (if applicable)
- Food License (FSSAI) for selling edible items
3. Document Submission Guidelines
- All documents must be clearly scanned, valid, and legible.
- Uploaded documents must be in PDF or JPEG format.
- False or forged documentation will result in immediate suspension of the seller account.
4. Document Verification
Modcart reserves the right to verify the submitted documents either internally or via third-party verification agencies. Sellers will be notified upon successful completion or rejection due to discrepancies.
5. Periodic Updates and Re-Verification
Sellers may be required to resubmit updated documents in cases such as:
- Change in business structure
- Expiry of government-issued licenses
- Platform compliance reviews or audits
6. Document Retention and Privacy
All seller documents are securely stored and handled in compliance with applicable data protection regulations. These documents are only used for internal verification and regulatory compliance.
